SnuggleU Giveaway

I must say that when Jack was born, he didn't like sleeping in the big (wide open) pack n play that we kept beside the bed, so this seems like a great solution (without having to worry about it being up around their face!) Thought I would share!

Let it snow! (Feb 13, 2010)

Jack actually enjoyed the snow this time!! (Apparently the recipe for Jack to enjoy snow is to have a day where he isn't sick and where it isn't FREEZING with gail force winds *exaggeration*)

So much for Snow Cream!

So much for snow cream!! By that I don't mean, "There is so MUCH SNOW for snow cream". No. I mean, "Well, that didn't work!" I've never had snow cream before, and Jack hasn't either, SO I decided that we should try it! I set out a bowl last night and excitedly collected it this morning. As I didn't have any evaporated milk in the house, I found a recipe using sugar, vanilla, and milk. Perfect. I had ALL of those items! So here it goes.....

                 Snow: Check, Sugar: check, Vanilla: Check, Milk: Check

 

I proceeded to pour in the sugar.

Now the vanilla (this is the one time it's okay to eat discolored snow!)

  Stir...

Add the milk until the desired consistency.

Stir again until well mixed.

Mmm...and then I tried it. Apparently I wasn't using my noggin because vanilla has....

Yes, that's right. 35% alcohol...since it doesn't bake out of it...probably shouldn't give that to my one year old! Perhaps if my proportions had been better, then I could have eaten some! So much for Snow Cream!

Oh well, guess that means that I'll just have to have a brownie for breakfast instead!

I almost forgot...Here is my helper! The drawer was apparently MUCH more interesting than making the snow cream!
 

 

15 months old (and about time!)

I've been a bit slack on the posting, I know. I would love to promise complete repentance, but I know better!
So here it is: Jack at 15 months. He's 33 1/4 inches, and after his stomach bug/sickness and lack of eating for almost 2 weeks, he is down to 32.6 lbs (from 33 or 34 lbs). Haha, I know--he's a big boy, but he looks teeny to me (his pants are falling off and everything!) Developmentally--he hit the 15 month point and has taken off! He's trying to repeat all kinds of words (rather than just his typical ones--"car", "daddy", "car", "car", occasionally "mama" ;) and a few others). He is now saying, "Teeth, eyes, cold, hot, outside, quack, boo, a version of book"..and more that are eluding me at the moment! He has also become more adept at doing the little things (i.e. pulling a pull-toy train with a short string behind him and keeping the wheels on the ground, throwing his leg over different ride-on toys, being able to place his toy car on its wheels in a small space so that it can go down his Little People ramp, etc!) Did I mention he LOVES his daddy's skateboard? I'll have to get a picture. He likes to sit on it and have us push him back and forth across the room!

This is one of his favorite things to do at the playground. Go figure--all the equipment, but he wants to do this!

I saw this face A LOT for about 2 weeks while Jack was sick. I was beginning to think he had developed a new, not so fun personality! Thank goodness, he's feeling better and back to his normal, happy self!
